A Prayer Between Yearly Meetings

Barbara Gosney, from Rich Square Monthly Meeting, Woodland, North Carolina, which is part of North Carolina Yearly Meeting (Conservative), sent me a message which included a prayer for Britain Yearly Meeting. I felt I wanted to share her warm and heartfelt words here:

"I pray that British Friends experience a time of worship and deliberation covered by that Life and Power which grounds our Society in Love. BYM is extremely large compared to our North Carolina Yearly Meeting-Conservative. However, we all are part of that same body."

I feel that extending the hand of friendship between Yearly Meetings in such a way helps to deepen and enrichen the unity of the global Quaker family. I was reminded me of Advices & Queries number 16, which I read quite often:

"Do you welcome the diversity of culture, language and expressions of faith in our yearly meeting and in the world community of Friends? Seek to increase your understanding and to gain from this rich heritage and wide range of spiritual insights. Uphold your own and other yearly meetings in your prayers."

Thank you Barbara for upholding us all in your thoughts and prayers.
